Parish Council of Ministries
Explanation of Ministries
1. Cemetery Committee 17. Catechists and Sacramental Prep This is a ministry that we wish to bring back from past years. Servers to help keep pastor informed on condition of our cemeteries and make recommendations regarding the ongoing care of cemetery properties.
Adults who serve as teachers of religious education and/or assist with preparation for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.
2. Tabulators (Money-Counters)
18. RENEW Program Assist with counting the collection on Monday mornings in church office.
Small faith sharing group experience for adults, as participants and/or leaders.
3. Maintenance Committee
19. Baptism Seminar Team Assists with evaluations of various properties of all three churches and makes any necessary recommendations to the pastor.
Assists with seminars for couples and godparents preparing for baptism of their children.
4. Ministry of Communication 20. Vacation Bible School Adult Leader Coordinates production of our quarterly parish newsletter and maintenance of our parish website (renewthebcc.com).
Assists with leading our annual vacation bible school program.
5. Altar Servers (Youth) 21. Young Adult Group For youth 4th grade and older; assists priests with weekend Masses.
A faith sharing and fellowship group for young adults, ages 18 through 30.
6. Alter Server Adult Coordinator 22. Knights of Columbus Assists with ongoing training of altar servers and scheduling.
Fraternal order of Catholic men who assist the church and extended community with activities of service and prayer.
7. Adult Altar Server 23. Third Order of Mary Assists priests with Masses on Mondays through Thursdays.
Group of women who meet for prayer and fellowship monthly.
8. Art and Environment 24. Prayer Line Assists with decorating our churches throughout the year.
A ministry that offers prayerful support for special needs in our community.
9. Flower Ministry 25. Youth House Adult Chaperone Assists with weekly maintaining of flowers and greenery in our churches year round.
Serves as chaperone for youth house gatherings throughout the year for a designated grade level.
10. Reader 26. Youth Ministry Adult Leader Proclaims readings and announcements during weekend and week day Masses.
Along with serving as a Youth House Chaperone, also assists with retreats, prayer gatherings, and other projects.
11. Children's Liturgy of the Word Leaders 27. Bereavement Committees Leads our children in weekly sessions during 9:15am Mass.
Assists with preparation and delivery of food for families during times of loss.
12. Ladies Altar Societies 28. Wednesday Morning Breakfast Preparation Assist with activities associated with the liturgy and other seasonal events
Assists with preparing "little treats" for fellowship time after the weekly 7:00am Wednesday morning Mass
13. Music Ministries 29. Helping Hands Store Any of the following: singing in the 9:15am choir, funeral choir, as cantor for the 4:00pm Saturday Vigil Mass, musician, etc.
Assists with organization and running of store, located in Napoleonville
14. Sacristan 30. Nursing Home & Homebound Ministry Sets up for weekend and/or week day Masses, usually in teams of two.
Assists with distribution of communion to nursing home residents and homebound parishioners, quarterly home Masses, birthday and anniversary remembrances.
15. Usher 31. Youth Ministry Assists with greeting people at Mass, handing out bulletins and collecting the weekly offering.
Various spiritual, service, and social activities for youth in grades 5 - 12.
16. Mothers Club (NEW MINISTRY) Researches and promotes issues relating to child/family wellness.
